Our luxury hotel room offers antique furniture, a fabulous bed and gorgeous views.
Our luxury hotel room is named after one of Kirkby Lonsdale’s
most famous admirers, the Victorian art critic who fell in love with the town and even has a view named after him. Ruskin’s View – a few minute’s walk away from Plato’s through the ancient churchyard – was irrevocably linked with him when he wrote "I do not know in all my own country, still less in France or Italy, a place more naturally divine, or a more priceless possession of true 'Holy Land'."
Room 4 is a very special room and we're sure Ruskin would have loved it as much as he loved Kirkby Lonsdale. You can work at the antique Waring and Gillow writing desk or sit back in the leather armchair and enjoy the views over Kirkby Lonsdale to Casterton Fell. It is the largest of our rooms and the enormous bed can be converted into a twin with prior notice. Go on - indulge yourself!
You’ll be so comfortable you may not want to leave your room – why not order from our ‘do not disturb’ menu and enjoy superb food from Plato’s restaurant while you luxuriate in this most comfortable, luxury hotel room in Kirkby Lonsdale?
