Coming by Car

Kirkby Lonsdale is located on the A65 Leeds to Kendal road approximately 5.5 miles east of Junction 36 of the M6 Motorway.

Leave at junction 36

On the roundabout take the third exit if leaving the northbound carriageway or the first exit if leaving the   southbound carriageway following the signs for Kirkby Lonsdale

Proceed approximately 200 yards along the A65 and at the next roundabout go straight across on the A65 (second exit) following the signs for Kirkby Lonsdale

Continue along the A65 passing through Nook and Lupton.  After about 5 miles Kirkby Lonsdale Motors is on the right. At the roundabout (at Booths store) take the first exit (Dodgson Croft). 

Booths (store) is on the left, at the junction turn left. Follow the road round on to Mitchelgate. At the bottom of the hill turn right. Plato's is situated on the left, on the corner of the main street.

Parking

Because we live here, we're the first to admit that parking in quaint old Kirkby Lonsdale can be tricky.  Our original customers had no problem tying their horse outside. 

Feel free to drop off friends / family / bags / the kitchen sink outside, we will then direct you to parking on Fairbank near the Church, in the Market Square or up New Road towards the Post Office and Booths.

Coming by train?

The nearest station is Oxenholme, The Lake District. 

There are trains direct from central London (3 hours), Manchester (1 hour 15 mins) and Glasgow (1 hour 44 mins).  Oxenholme station is a 15 minute taxi ride away from Plato's - let us know and we will book one so that it will be waiting for you when your train arrives.
